Do the end caps do the job? Of course. I made the mistake of hitting them too getting them in the bars and then the plastic outer part is broke a little. It wasn't until after I ordered these that I realized that there were similar plugs with no name brand. Should have bought two sets of those for the same price as one. They do the job but like most name brand items with their logo emblazoned on the side for the world to see, they cost too much.

Good product, nice value, although it was something I had to reorder. I just bought a set of cross bars from Rerack, along with a set of these caps. In order to save packaging, the caps were thoughtfully installed. Only problem was the thingies that hold the bars on the car wouldn't fit over them, and I wasn't clever enough to get them off without destroying them. I bet Rerack would honor your request to ship them loose, if you asked. Otherwise, I've been delighted with the products, price, service and turnaround time !

Product arrived earlier then I expected , and the caps were excellent condition . ReRack definitely has quality products .
