The ReRack Renton/Seattle store is hiring for 1-2 custom installation specialists. Both full and part time positions are available.
Description
The Custom Install specialist position is focused on custom installations of Yakima and Thule roof racks and accessories. This position requires proficiency with a drill and other basic shop tools as well as a confidence in vehicle modification.
The ideal candidates are those comfortable in low-pressure sales environment, high comfort around tools and vehicle modification, have a mind-set on environmental stewardship, and enjoy the great outdoors. Kayaking and Biking enthusiasts strongly encouraged.
Previous experience with Yakima or Thule racks, fabrication, automotive customization or related fields is highly desired.
Training is provided as part of the position.

The successful candidate must be able to deliver a positive attitude without exception at all times, have good listening skills and common-sense decision making skills that consistently exceed our customer's expectations. This candidate must be an effective team member who works well with others, is able to multi-task and deliver excellent customer service.
As this position involves assembly and installation of vehicle racks, any sort of mechanical experience (working on vehicles, bikes, etc) or rack experience, professional or personal, is preferred.
Duties may include:
- Listening to customers' needs and making customization and product recommendations
- Operating a drill, angle grinder and other metal working tools
- Installing racks on customers' vehicles
- Operating a Point of Sale terminal
Schedule
- Anticipated operational hours are 10am – 6pm
- Typical shifts are 8 hours.
- Part time (2-4 days per week) -or- Full time (5 days/week)
Compensation
- $18+ / hr
